The Orabella Scarano® legwear brand was established in 2006 by Lindsey Hoffman and Silvia Scarano, in Rome, Italy. After teaming with a renowned calze manufacturing plant in Northern Italy, the company's inaugural hosiery/legwear collection was born. Hoffman, a Long Island entrepreneur frustrated with the lack of legwear and feminine dressy influence in the U.S market, founded Orabella brand's first American office in October 2006. She received a happy welcome from clients, friends and family who also felt frustrated in their search for fashionable, comfortable hosiery. In October 2006, Hoffman unveiled Orabella Scarano's luxe hosiery line to the American market- with a fresh, new vision of legwear in mind, and in March 2007 its online outlet, OrabellaScarano.com, was born. The mission of these two young designers is to use innovative, unique designs to transform legwear into fabulous, modern apparel. Hoffman and Scarano are creating products that all women desire: high fashion and high quality at an affordable price point. Orabella's supremely durable products are all made in Italy from the finest yarns, designed with attention to form and individual detailed finishing, so they not only look exceptional, but feel luxurious.
As head of Orabella Scarano's U.S. sales office, Hoffman is excited to see her vision become a reality. In 2006, she became the American face of the emerging hosiery company.
"We're striving to reignite the sensual allure of hosiery, and its fashion magic as a shape-enhancing accessory," says Hoffman. "Our next mission will be to transform legwear from its role as an ordinary accessory into highly esteemed apparel that 'makes' or dramatically alters an outfit."
